Thanks

The information on the worldwide history of cannabis use is extensive. It comprises 10,000 years of agricultural, medicinal, industrial, maritime, personal and religious uses.

I could have written this report based on this evidence -- and I have included some foreign quotes -- but I chose to focus on the American experience because I believe America is solely responsible for the international war on drugs.

Fortunately, for the sake of all mankind, some of the world is starting to take a new look at drug policy and not be influenced by America’s wealth and power. This was evidenced earlier this year (2002) when the United Nations expelled the U.S. from the U.N. Drug Policy Committee.

I am not advocating the use of marijuana, or any drug, to either the young or the old, nor am I opposed to only marijuana prohibition. I am against the "War On Drugs" in its entirety. Prohibition creates the black markets which breed corruption, crime and the incentive to entice. It has also created bureaucracies throughout international, national and local governments that feed off the "War On Drugs" and victimize the very people it intends to help. Legalize all drugs, and immediately eliminate the elements of organized crime, terror and corruption from their presence!

I would like to thank my friends, Darin and Jo, for making this report possible. Darin, for "turning me on" to The Emperor Wears No Clothes by Jack Herer. This book sparked my research and I highly recommend it to everyone. And Jo for her endless help and patience.

I would like to thank my family and friends who have given me an ear (and a hand) over the years, and I would like to thank the many people who are brave enough to stand up and say, “Repeal prohibition!”

I would also like to thank you for checking out this site. If you have any comments or suggestions feel free to contact the Hemp Historian, and please share this site and information with someone you know!
PEACE!
